Perfect Engineering Pty Ltd was the principal contractor to the Department of Public Works for the Chullora TAFE project. Perfect Engineering Pty Ltd re-designed and constructed using alternative civil methods of construction to the existing design i.e CFA piering, suspended slab, sandpit, design & construct alternative stormwater, electricals, concreting, re-design/shop detail, surveying, structural steelwork, fabricate, construct, liase with Workcover and Dept of Pub Works over asbestos and relevant OHS issues found on site, minuted meetings with clients and managing overall project. Perfect Engineering Pty Ltd had to decide and then report to the Government on preferred options and related statutory requirements concerning the project. Chullora Tafe construction area is to be used for TAFE students to learn and construct transportable Dept. of Housing modules in order that TAFE in turn sells these modules to the Government for the use in Housing Commission.
The abovementioned project was a great success, and was completed in a shorter period than expected. The period for construction was extremely short, and there was minimal disruption, dust, noise to employees due to careful planning and control. Attention to OH&S and environmental issues had to be adhered to strictly as in all projects.
